Shopping
The Mississippi Delta encompasses a wide array of world class shops and galleries. Arts and antiques, specialty gifts and one of a kind pottery is only the beginning of what you will find throughout the Delta and in historic downtown Greenwood.
Food
Mississippi Delta restaurants are some of the world’s best kept culinary secrets. Adventures through the Delta can lead you to discover everything from one of a kind catfish dishes to the regions famous homemade hot tamales to some of the best fine dining to be had. Entering some local restaurants is like traveling back in time where patrons dine in booths that date back to Prohibition.
Attractions
Experience the rich culture and heritage of the Delta through its vast offerings of museums and exhibits. Civil War artifacts, Indian mounds, plantation homes, literary collections and Kermit the Frog are all at your fingertips. Lead your way off the beaten path to view the many miles of cotton, soybean and corn fields, along with the thousands of unlikely ponds where a majority of the world’s catfish is raised.
Blues
The land “where music meets the soul” is the Mississippi Delta, birthplace to music we call the Blues. This art form came out of unsuspecting plantation workers who changed the face of music forever. Stop by and visit some authentic juke joints and listen to the Blues. Travel down historic Highway 61 and tour around to come across the birthplace and final resting place of some of the greatest musicians of the 1900’s.
