Our yoga and wellness workshops are designed to help you deepen your understanding of yoga and complementary practices. Throughout the year we offer sessions for all levels of experience. Please ask us if you have any questions about content.
LEVEL 1 Beginners Yoga on Saturday mornings starting January 10th- January 31st.
This class puts focus on the proper execution of Asanas (postures), breathing, and yoga principles. Training begins by developing a mastery of Surya Namaskar (Sun Salutation) and Pranayama (breathing practices). 8:00- 9:15am $35/4 week series or $10/drop in.
Lift Your Spirit Workshop by Liza Jones: Saturday January 17, 2015: 2:00- 4:00pm
Lift your spirit in this joyful workshop designed to kindle your inner fire and uplift your whole mood: deep meditation, pranayama, fast and fun vinyasa followed by a bit of restorative yoga. Then to keep the joy and light moving, we will discuss ways to alleviate stress and enhance energy through holistic nutrition. You can not only uplift your own spirit, but also the people around you, even on the most depressing day of the year! Open Heart Workshop by Liza Jones: Saturday February 14, 2015: 2:00 - 4:00 pm
Happy Valentine's Day! This workshop delves deeply into heart-centered meditation, quick-paced vinyasa flow, and heart opening backbends, followed by a discussion of heart healthy advice for prevention of and supportive therapy for heart disease. This includes nutrient information and drug-nutrient interactions. Especially important for those with preexisting conditions and family histories. Cardiovascular Disease is the number one cause of death for females, more deadly than any cancer. Knowledge and stress-reduction are powerful for CVD. Yoga Workshop for Athletes with Toni Powers: Saturday, March 21 2:00 - 4:00 pm
Enhance your performance during daily workouts and competitions by learning how to relax tight muscles and ease an anxious and overworked athlete mindset. This workshop will focus on lengthening the hamstrings and quadriceps, opening the hips and releasing shoulder tension. The class is designed for athletes of all levels, recreational to competitive - bikers, runners, walkers, weight lifters. Pre-registration is required for this workshop. Class structure and postures will vary depending on the instructor. Bring a towel and a bottle of water!
Information for new students:
- Brand new students should sign a release form directly with the Alluvian Spa prior to taking classes at Studio A.
- All payments are handled directly through the Alluvian Spa at the front desk.
- Attire: comfortable, loose fitting clothing may be worn and bare feet.
- Please no street shoes inside practice space.
- Mats and water are provided; though it is encouraged you bring your own.
- Please enter studio quietly and respectfully as another class may be in session.
